Available Positions


Electronic CAD Operator


Creates and modifies detailed printed circuit board drawings and mechanical or plastic housing assemblies using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality product. Check drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards. Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.

Essential Functions

  • Draft final drawings for fabrication, of one or more printed circuit board with electronic components, microchips, FPGAs, conductive tracks, pads, layers of copper sheets laminated together, copper traces and embedded software.
  • Design PCB board circuits and assembly design documentation (2D drawings from 3D model CAD files, and etc.
  • Use computer-aided drafting equipment with Altium software and Solid works software packages.
  • Delivering projects to certain timeframe milestones
  • Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are checked by a design engineer.  
  • Review completed drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and conformity to industry standards and regulations.
  • Confer with Design Engineering and Field Application Engineer and other personnel to resolve problems. Explain drawings to Design Engineer and Field Application Engineer and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Design PCB for cost effective electronic application and design for best manufacturability practices.
  • Develop a library of drawings.
  • Gather Electronic and 3D information and package for electronic transfer
  • Understand BOM material and components to be used in designs.
  • Experience with the generation / updating of BOMs and other documentation
  • Create standard work documents for either test or assembly production.
  • Write ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) per direction from manufacturing engineers and update drawings.
  • Create standard work documents for either test or assembly production.
  • Measure factors that affect placement and arrangement of components on printed circuit board, such as distances to be spanned by wire and components.
  • Accurately report drafting time spent on each project.

Education and Skills

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with working knowledge of Altium or SolidWorks to design PCB drawings and mechanical or plastic housing assemblies with an OEM or CEM with Application Engineer.  The position also requires knowledge of regulatory guidelines (FDA, ISO and UL) as it applies to design requirements and considerations.
