STHRM, Inc. is proud of its many accomplishments. The Case Studies below show just some examples of our work. Other accomplishments include:
  • Successfully completed a merger assignment; implementing benefits programs (benefits, disability, and 401(k)), union contract, recruiting, and more for a new start up company.
  • Completed negotiating a five-year union contract with the International Association of Machinists.
  • Successfully completed the recruiting of an Engineering Manager for a local high tech machine shop supporting the aerospace industry.
  • Glenn Levar, President, Shared Time Human Resources Management, Inc., presented along with Cynthia A. Applin, Director of CWRU Career Center, at an informational seminar titled “Creating Internships 10.” The presentation highlighted several key elements that are critical to starting an internship program at your company.
  • STHRM, Inc. conducted an HR Audit at two New York-based plastic manufacturers, assessing various functional areas of Human Resources and implemented changes to HR infrastructure.

Investigation and Resolution of Discrimination Claim

Challenge: Two female Hispanic employees alleged the company discriminated by having two different compensation incentive plans based on an employee’s race and national origin.

Solution: STHRM, Inc. conducted a thorough investigation of the allegations with client company management, human resources, and employees. A written report was prepared and presented to EEOC.

Result: EEOC found the company did not have two different compensation incentive plans and the charges were dismissed.


Illegal Termination Resolution

Challenge: An African-American male, filed an affidavit with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and Equal Opportunity Commission alleging that the client company terminated him illegally because of his sex.

Solution: STHRM, Inc. conducted a thorough investigation finding all relevant information from the charging party, peers, and subordinates. Evidence substantiated that the charging party was terminated due to his own behavior and the violation of the company policies.

Result: The Ohio Civil Rights Commission found the evidence did not substantiate the charging party's allegations. The case was dismissed.


Termination for Sexual Harassment

Challenge: A male employee in a supervisory position at a construction company was reported to have exposed himself to a female employee in the lunchroom.

Solution: Company management contacted STHRM, Inc. to conduct a sexual harassment investigation. A methodical and systematic examination of all relevant information from employees, peers, subcontractors, and vendors was conducted.

Result: Evidence was found to support the allegation and the supervisor employee was terminated.


Outsourced HR Management

Challenge: A management company purchased the assets of a failing business and became a new company.

Solutions: Glenn Levar, President, STHRM, Inc. was hired as an Interim Manager of Human Resources.

Results: Fifty-plus hourly and salary employees were hired after the satisfactory completion of local records check, BWC check, verification of social security numbers, and pre-employment physical with alcohol and drug screen. Other projects included the writing of handbooks for hourly and salaried employees, key position recruitment, development of a human resource database, new hire reporting, negotiation of five year union contract, two different (salary and union) fringe benefits plans for life insurance, short term disability, and 401(k), set up workers compensation program, won unemployment hearing at the industrial commission office in Cleveland, OH.
